500 ml samp
2.5 litres water
10 ml salt
250 ml milk
50 g butter
Method порно ракам
Cover the samp with boiling water and soak overnight.
Place the drained samp in a potjie and cover with cold water.
Cover with lid and bring to the boil.
As soon as the samp starts to boil, remove some coals so that it simmers slowly for about 3 hours or until it is soft.
Add more boiling water if necessary.
If the samp is soft and there is still too much liquid in the pot, remove the lid, place more coals beneath the potjie and allow the liquid to boil off.
Add salt and milk to the samp.
Allow to simmer slowly for another 30 minutes.
Stir in butter and serve with any potjiekos that has its own gravy, or serve as a separate delicacy with plenty of butter and sugar, or sugar and milk.
Samp must have a creamy texture and should not be as dry as rice.
